Hundreds Protest Outside ICE Headquarters in New York City (8:25 PM PDT)
Hundreds of protesters demonstrated in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday evening against President Trump’s escalating immigration crackdown, continuing several days of protests that began more than 2,400 miles away in Los Angeles.
The demonstrators rallied at Foley Square, near a large government building that houses federal immigration offices and the city’s main immigration court, which has become a flashpoint as the Trump administration ramps up the arrest of migrants in courthouses.

California Governor Gavin Newsom Blasts President Trump in Address (6:32 PM PDT)
Newsom’s scathing address tonight took aim at Trump’s federalization of the National Guard and use of Marines in Los Angeles and warned of what may come.
“Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault,” Newsom warned.
Authoritarian regimes begin by targeting vulnerable groups and don’t stop there, Newsom said.
“Trump and his loyalists, they thrive on division because it allows them to take more power and exert even more control. And by the way, Trump, he’s not opposed to lawlessness and violence, as long as it serves him,” Newsom added, citing the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

LA Mayor Karen Bass Imposes Curfew Starting at 8PM PDT (6:11 PM PDT)
Bass says the curfew will be from 8pm tonight to 6am tomorrow.
Explaining the need for a curfew, she says there have been “significant damages” across the city.
“I will consult with elected leaders and law enforcement officials tomorrow … we certainly expect for it to last several days.”

Police in LA made over 130 arrests today, surpassing previous days combined. Trump is pressuring local authorities to act more decisively. It seems law enforcement is responding with stronger measures now.
